Desarrolla Obras y Servicios has just completed a spectacular rustic house of more than 700 square metres near A Coruña. A house that is actually pure avant-garde construction due to the combination of contemporary design elements with others from traditional architecture.
The exquisite control of volumes and materials give the house a powerful personality. The use of iconic elements of traditional Galician architecture is particularly striking. A housing concept in which the architecture studio SAestudio and the renowned interior design studio Alejandra Pombo have participated.
Imposing wooden beams, natural stone both on the façade and in the interior and rustic furnishings decorate a luxury villa that, in contrast, presents avant-garde construction elements. A combination of past and present.
The programme of needs of the house shows the magnitude of the project. Two bedrooms with dressing room and bathroom, six more bedrooms with bathroom, toilets, gym, living-dining room, kitchen with pantry, laundry, installations room, swimming pool, large garage…
More than 700 square metres of constructed area within a plot of almost 8.000 metres.
Optimisation of space
The project executed by Desarrolla Obras y Servicios made an effort to reduce the circulation areas. Avoiding the creation of residual spaces such as corridors and gaining in variables such as functionality and aesthetics.
The rustic house consists of one floor above ground and a first floor. The day area is located on the ground floor, with large terraces and a swimming pool, while the north façade houses the night area.
In each of them an exemplary interior design work has been carried out by Alejandra Pombo’s studio, whose projects aim to achieve pleasant, functional and comfortable environments, with a unique personality and style.
A work that synthesizes around an idea: the creation of a powerful identity that combines tradition and avant-garde. Spectacular doors and rustic furniture coexist with elegant wallpapers and contemporary pieces that amplify the power of the architectural discourse.
A language in which the commitment to light plays a recognisable role. The house has large galleries and windows that act as dynamisers, generating spaciousness and luminosity.
In conclusion, a home that has visited the past to settle in the future.
