Restoration of a building in the historic centre

Term of execution: 4 monthsStatus of work: Finished

Restoration of a residential building located in the historic centre of A Coruña, according to the project carried out by the architect Carlota Robelo.

The building consists of a ground floor and mezzanine, three floors of flats and one floor under the roof, housing a total of 5 flats and two commercial premises.

The intervention consisted of emptying the interior of the building, building a new laminated wood structure, with a similar layout to the previous one.

The façade of stone walls has been refurbished with white painted plaster, and all the exterior carpentry has been recovered, highlighting the wooden gallery and the existing balconies.

The building’s accessibility has been improved by fitting it with a panoramic lift with a stadip glass enclosure, which allows light to enter the stairwell.

As for the interior, the exposed stone walls have been recovered, as well as other unique stone elements, which, combined with the exposed wooden structure and the wooden flooring, give warmth to the spaces.
