Preservation of catalogued elements in single-family dwellings

Terms of execution: 12 MesesStatus of work: Finalizada

Refurbishment of a listed single-family house, located on the outskirts of the historic centre of Santiago de Compostela.

The construction of about 200 m2 consists of a ground floor, first floor and ground floor, with a back garden typical of the area in which it is located.

The project, carried out by the ATRIO Arquitectura e Urbanismo studio, intervenes in a traditional architecture, ensuring the conservation of the listed elements, such as the masonry walls, the chimney, the compositional elements of the façade and its interior spatial organisation, both the access and the location of the staircase and the corridor.

The traditional structural system has been preserved, based on perimeter load-bearing walls supported by a laminated wooden floor slab on the first floor, and metal beams and HEB-type laminated profiles on the roof. On the ground floor, a cavity-type ventilated floor slab is used. The staircase has a steel structure and solid oak stair treads.

The finishing materials used include a continuous polished concrete floor on the ground floor and a floating oak floor on the upper floors, both laid on a radiant floor system that heats the house.

Outside, a pergola made of metal profiles and wooden pontoons covers the porch located in the back garden.
